Paper Moon
I See the Moon was the theme of Creating with Books in July. I was inspired by the vintage paper moon images I found on the internet. I cut out the crescent moon from corrugated cardboard and my co-worker Alex Clark painted it. I photographed each child and emailed the photo to their parents

Books I Read
Faces of the Moon written by Bob Crelin and it is a non- fiction book that is written in rhyme explaining moon phases. The Boy on the Moon is beautifully written and illustrated by James Christopher Carroll. The children were engaged in the aspects of both - reality and fantasy!
Craft Time
The craft consisted of a sheet of light clear plastic and gold and silver Sharpies. The
children drew their man in the moon on the pre-cut hanging
moon mobile that had fishing line threaded through a punched hole.
Snack Activity and Music
For fun we made Oreo moon phases at the end of the
program and looked at the downloaded photos of the
children on the laptop. I played music to fill the space at the
beginning, during craft time and at the end.
